Aerodyne Icon SB271107 PDF Print E-mail
Sunday, 30 December 2007
Aerodyne Research Corporation, manufacturers of the popular ICON series of harness/container systems, has issued a precautionary service bulletin #SB271107 that recommends grommet inspection on all affected systems.

Affected systems are all ICON harness/container systems, part number P120, manufactured after and including 01 September 2007.

A field report revealed that there were some damaged grommets on an ICON container. The ICON was inspected by Aerodyne and it was determined that the grommets had been damaged by the grommet press. The damage can be seen on the inside of the grommet. Grommets need to be inspected to ensure correct and flush seating.

Although this could be an isolated incident, as a precaution Aerodyne is recommending all grommets on all ICON container systems indentified above be inspected.
